John Nodes Community Fund £4,000 pledged to help our local communities

The John Nodes Community Fund aims to provide grants for community-based charity projects which improve the quality of life of residents and benefit people who live within three miles of John Nodes Funeral Service’s branches in North Kensington, Kensal Rise, Cricklewood and Harlesden.
These projects must align with one or more of the fund categories: Health, Education, Employment Opportunities, and Poverty/Social Deprivation.
We will run two application cycles over the course of the year, with three recipients each cycle:

About the Panel
Sophie Carpenter
After twenty years of working in commercial roles, I made the decision to switch careers four years ago.
My decision to join the funeral industry was based on my desire to help bereaved families during their time of need.
As a Chapel attendant at West London Crematorium, it is my privilege to assist families in saying goodbye to their loved ones, alongside Funeral Directors.
Georgiana (Georgie) Flaherty
My name is Georgie. I have worked in the funeral industry for just over 3 years.
Currently being a mobile arranger, I have the bonus of getting to know different areas and meeting very different communities.
Before this, I was a childminder so have always been in caring careers.
I am also a mum of 3 which keeps me very busy!
Susan (Sue) Voke
My Name is Sue. I previously worked as a palliative community carer, supporting people and their families during some of the most difficult times of their lives. Three years ago, I joined John Nodes Funeral Service, where I’ve been able to continue that support in a different but equally meaningful way. I’m deeply passionate about caring for families, listening to their needs, and helping them feel supported and understood. Looking back, I truly wish I had started this career sooner, as it feels like exactly where I’m meant to be.
